Stingray Geophysical has secured over £10 million capital from a venture capital consortium that includes Energy Ventures, Energy Capital Management, Chevron Technology Ventures and Cody Gate Ventures.

Cody Gate Ventures, an early stage investor with many years' experience in commercialising government funded technologies at QinetiQ and other top tier R&D organisations, holds a 19.9% share in Stingray Geophysical.

Energy Ventures is an independent venture capital company providing capital to high growth oil and gas technology companies. Energy Ventures manages two funds and is based in Stavanger, Norway.
Chevron Technology Ventures identifies and invests in new technologies and business opportunities that can create value, clear competitive advantage and superior financial returns for Chevron.


Statoil Venture is a corporate venture capital fund owned by Statoil ASA and managed by Energy Capital Management AS.  It specialises in promising new energy technologies and oil and gas upstream technologies. It primarily invests in technology companies with a focus on oil and gas and new energy sector.

Within oil and gas, the firm seeks to focus on exploration, reservoir management, gas chain technology, subsea field development and environmental technologies.

 
Cody Gate Ventures focuses on meeting the important needs of global corporations and government by investing in competitive, unique and high value solutions in commercially relevant areas including advanced materials, biomedical, IT, energy and security. Cody Gate's approach has been developed over many years commercialising UK and US government funded defence technologies at QinetiQ, SRI International and other top tier R&D organisations.
